About UVC

Since 1998, Urban Village Contracting has been the premiere all-purpose home builder and contractor on Long Island. UVC doesn’t just deliver quality work, but the peace of mind that comes from working with real experts who build things that are made to last.

The experts at UVC know that every home is unique, and every conceivable variable is considered before work begins. This includes the age of the home, the surrounding environment, zoning compliance, and much more. UVC’s expertise in materials consistently creates work that is both durable and beautiful, and custom-tailored to the home-owner’s taste.

UVC owner Tom Piraglia is a second-generation builder who grew up in the business and as a result, sees the world differently.

In the world of contracting, you don’t always get what you pay for. Oftentimes, you’re paying for the overhead of a big firm that needs to recoup a massive advertising budget. With UVC, you get the highest quality work at the right price.

With thousands of projects completed spanning the past four decades, UVC will improve and protect the value of your home, always adhering to the highest standards of integrity, fairness, honesty, personal responsibility, and above all: excellence.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Thomas Pirraglia and Kurt Berlinghof offer more than a wide range of contracting services---they listen carefully, explain thoroughly, and empathize with clients needs, wants, and pocketbooks. They also keep promises and come in on time and cost. It was a pleasure updating the systems and appearance of my Stony Brook home at the height of the pandemic and with the resulting supply chain problems. During that period, the firm carried out projects as small as patios and pools, built houses, and designed and built a new public project. Tom and Kurt have become personal friends and I would recommend their services to all who want to enjoy work "done right."

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I contracted Urban Village for window replacement, new patio with old deck removal, new driveway, walkways, planter boxes and gutters. The finished job was first class. The owners Kurt and Tom are knowledgeable professionals and good guys. They collaborated with me on every aspect of the job and the finished product shines. They went above and beyond . I am starting a new project with Urban Village and I highly recommend them.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Wow! Working with Thomas and Kurt at Urban Village Contracting, Inc. was a wonderful experience; I am truly thankful I called for their services! During my home exterior remodel, I utilized their knowledge and expertise in almost every area of construction: asphalt driveway, cement garage floor, paver walkways, windows, siding, soffits, fascia, gutters, exterior doors, interior and exterior trim, and I love my patio makeover!! I was offered a very reasonable quote and was presented with the most skilled craftsmen I have ever worked with, not to mention their fine attention to detail and how spotless they left my home and property at the end of every day. Urban Village Contracting is not only professional at what they do, but they are reliable and thorough in getting the job done. I am delighted with my home remodel, which turned out exactly as we planned. I will certainly utilize their services again, and I will definitely recommend Urban Village Contracting to anyone looking to have work done on their home!

Thomas was great to work with. At the end of each day, they took the time to clean to make sure nothing was left behind. Thomas walked me though what work was going to be done that day so I knew what to expect. Thomas is someone who cares about the job and makes sure everything is done right the first time with as little pain for the homeowner.
